The socialists are now aiming at Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.<\/p>\n

In races across the country for the Senate, progressive candidates are running serious, well-funded campaigns against more traditional Democrats.<\/p>\n

Moderate Democrats are afraid that if they pick progressive candidates, especially those with a history of troubling behavior, it will hurt their chances of flipping important Senate seats.<\/p>\n

Progressives say that the current leaders of political parties are using an outdated, uniform approach to determine who is \u201celectable.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 13 moderate Democrats signed a pledge reaffirming their support for \u201cstrong borders, capitalism, and patriotism\u201d after a new group of far-left socialists defeated Democrat incumbents in New York and Colorado.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know there are certain things that I believe in that are not being reflected in the current environment, especially with some of these races on Tuesday,\u201d Rep. Tom Suozzi (D-NY) said this week, per 100 Percent Fed Up.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re for capitalism, not socialism. We\u2019re for safety, not lawlessness. We\u2019re proud of America, not ashamed of America \u2014 and we need to be promoting those things,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe far left and the far right, you know, they\u2019re all very well organized. But those of us that don\u2019t support those far left or far right principles need to do a better job organizing and getting our message out,\u201d Suozzi told Fox & Friends.<\/p>\n

Axios went on to report that the group of moderates is preparing for \u201cwar\u201d against the so-called \u201cprogressives\u201d if they attempt to hijack the House floor or the party to secure ideological concessions on legislation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis strategy would mean even more work for House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) to tamp down divisions and keep his caucus unified come 2027,\u201d Axios noted this week.<\/p>\n

Being more closely aligned with Jeffries, the moderates say they won\u2019t allow their party to be dragged further to the left without resisting.<\/p>\n

\u201cClearly there has to be organization,\u201d one centrist House Democrat told the outlet. \u201cYou can\u2019t just wring your hands on this stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n

Said a second centrist Dem, \u201cThere\u2019s going to be a war.\u201d The second centrist added that the incoming group of socialists are \u201cbomb-throwers, not problem-solvers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Noted Axios, \u201cThe New York congressional primaries on Tuesday were a wake-up call for many Democrats on Capitol Hill. DSA members Darializa Avila Chevalier and Claire Valdez both won hotly competitive primaries, and progressive Brad Lander ousted Rep. Dan Goldman (D-N.Y.).\u201d<\/p>\n

The three victories add to a growing list of progressive candidates who have won Democratic primaries this year, while several others are still seeking to unseat more moderate Democratic incumbents in upcoming contests.<\/p>\n

Combined with the current members of the House\u2019s progressive \u201cSquad\u201d and their allies, the new candidates could help form the largest left-wing bloc in Congress in the 21st century if they are elected in November.<\/p>\n

The outlet added that the bloc is becoming large enough to derail Democratic legislative priorities without getting their demands met should the party manage to win back control of the House in the midterms.<\/p>\n

Still, the far-left members seem to believe their sentiments and ideology play well beyond their small, deep-blue districts.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat you\u2019re seeing in these elections across the country is voters who are saying, \u2018I am sick and tired of your loyalty to the establishment,\u2019\u201d left-wing Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-Ill.) told Axios.<\/p>\n

Another centrist Democrat told the outlet that the \u2018Blue Dog\u2019 coalition of moderate Dems in the House would use the same strategy to form a bipartisan coalition against the hard left.<\/p>\n

This also comes as\u00a0Sen. John Fetterman has been hinting at possibly leaving the Democratic Party.<\/p>\n

Fetterman\u2019s emerging independent streak on the political stage is raising eyebrows among his Senate colleagues and giving fodder to his progressive critics, sparking speculation about whether he might exit the Democratic Party.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
